Today, there is huge demand for DVDs, which is where the subject of replication comes into play.
This is the fastest and easiest way of mass-producing a high number of DVDs without compromising on audio and picture quality. DVD replication is so good that you can’t tell the difference between the original and the DVD copies that you get back.
Replication is a process where raw materials are used and a glass master of your disc is produced., from this glass master stampers are made, from the stampers your plastic discs are injections molded, the discs are then coated with a thin layer of aluminium and a protective lacquer to coat and protect them, this is hardened with ultra violet light. Your discs are printed onto the face off with artwork supplied by yourself either screen printed or litho printed dependant on the images you require.
DVD replication is cost effective, fast and convenient. It is the easiest way to mass-produce DVDs for distribution, as raw material is used the cost is kept down per unit, glass mastering is an expensive process so the more copies you have the cheaper your job will be, as the glass mastering cost do not change if you have 1000 discs or 1 million disc replicated. Turnaround time is normally 10-12 working days from receipt of your master DVD and sign off of your artwork, however, some duplication/replication companies can offer a quick turnaround which is normally 6-8 working days, this can however, sometimes carry a surcharge. So you need to be very clear with your chosen replication company on deadlines so that you get your discs on time with the exceptional quality finish and any packaging that you require.
So, when you need to copy a large number of DVDs, DVD duplication is the perfect solution.
