How the DVD replication process works

DVD replication is a process which has helped many commercial organisations. With DVD replication, you can copy a thousand or more DVDs in a cost effective way. The time taken for the process is much shorter than manually copying CDs.

DVD replication

As mentioned, DVD replication can produce bulk CDs. The process involves producing duplicate copies, identical to the original product, and it has gained popularity due to large demand from commercial businesses.

The DVD replication process

DVD replication includes transferring data from a master disc onto a large number of blank discs. The professionals will firstly check the original disc for any flaws such as unreadable portions. This is necessary as creating copies of unreadable data will affect the copied discs as well.

The process of replication involves producing a glass master which is then used to make a set of molds or stampers. The stampers are then mounted on a tool known as an injection mould machine, which makes a duplicate of the mold. The disc is then coated with an aluminium coating and spun with protective lacquer.

The cost of DVD replication often decreases with the number of discs to be produced, so it is an extremely cost-effective method.
