Fight against illegal DVD duplication

You can store your data such as photos and home videos on a DVD. Such a storage medium can be used to transfer data onto another computer. When you take photos on your camera, you can transfer these images on to a DVD. You just need to connect the USB cable and the transfer takes place. Such a DVD can be used as a back up for data on your computer.

There are some DVDs referred to as DVD-RW which can be “re-written”. This means that you can use such DVDs several times for storing data. Instead of buying CDs or DVDs again, it is advisable to buy a re-writable DVD to serve all purposes.

Such a technology which is so exposed to everyone has side-effects too. With DVD duplication now so popular, piracy has arisen in the digital world. There have been several laws and punishments put into place to try to reduce piracy but sadly, it continues to grow.

Movies and other private content can now be duplicated easily and with the internet now being so accessible to everyone, video content is pirated and distributed at a faster rate. Makers of movies invest lot of money and effort while producing such video content and they do their best to protect it. But illegal DVD duplication is an offence and legally punishable.

But when used correctly, DVD-RW discs can be really useful for storing information and backing up photographs and home videos.
