Piracy of games, movies and music has increased in recent years. Due to the easy availability of CD and DVD writers, anyone is able to make copies and sell them off. CD duplication is considered illegal when the rights to that CD or DVD are reserved and it is a punishable offence in many countries.

Music, games and videos that do not have any copyright to them can be duplicated. There are different sizes, speeds and types of CD and DVD duplication. CDs mostly come in the size specification of 700 Mega Bites (MB) which is quite small compared to the DVD that can be either 4 Gigabytes (GB) or 8GB in size.

Formats:
Both of these formats do not compare to the blu-ray disc that can store up to 50 GB worth of information. There are also discs such as the CD-R, on which information can be copied. But CD-RW or DVD-RW is a format of disc that can be used for multi sessions.

Security backup:
BD-R is a format which is used to copy information using a blu-ray disc. CD copying and DVD copying is useful as it can be used to back up information. DVD replication and CD replication is an important business as it is used to store large amounts of important information that may be lost if the computer hard disk crashes. It acts as a security backup in case anything happens to your computer.
